FAQs

Have Questions?

A teeth whitening can last 6-24 months depending on your diet and other factors. A professional teeth whitening can be safely performed every 6 months.
If done correctly, whitening your teeth will not damage them. However, there are certain products on the market that will permanently damage your teeth and are not recommended by Lake City Dental. Ask us for more information about these harmful products at your next appointment.
It is likely that you will experience minor temperature sensitivity for a few days after whitening your teeth. This is due to the temporarily increased porosity of the enamel on your teeth and is not permanent or harmful. The best way to avoid this is to brush with sensitivity toothpaste twice daily for two weeks before whitening your teeth.
Teeth whitening is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not generally covered by insurance. Check with your insurance provider for details on coverage and any potential costs.
